Sofía Fábregas has built a solid career of over 15 years in the television and film industry in Spain and has established herself as an influential figure in the audiovisual sector, a field that has traditionally been male-dominated.

In 2017, she founded the production company The LAB Cinema, which produced the series Antidisturbios, a highly acclaimed and award-winning project noted for its bold and innovative approach to the action genre. Her first feature film as a producer was Amor de madre, a comedy that achieved great success upon its release on Netflix, both nationally and internationally.

Previously, Sofía Fábregas worked for 10 years at Atresmedia, where she contributed to the success of numerous productions, including films such as Three Steps Above Heaven (Tres metros sobre el cielo) and The Invisible Guest (Contratiempo). Her experience at Atresmedia provided her with strong expertise in content management and production, which has been clearly reflected in the success of her subsequent projects.

In 2021, she joined Disney+ Spain as Vice President of Original Production. Since then, she has launched more than 15 projects, including fiction series such as Balenciaga, Yo Adicto, Nos vemos en otra vida, and Las largas sombras, all of which have been highly successful with both audiences and critics. She has also led non-fiction projects such as Amen—an unprecedented encounter with Pope Francis—and 548 Days. Captured by a Cult, a first-person account of an event that deeply moved the country.

One of the defining characteristics of Sofía Fábregas’s work is her ability to champion emerging talent while combining it with top-tier professionals, both in front of and behind the camera. Renowned filmmakers such as Los Moriarti, Javi Giner, Paco Plaza, Javier Fesser, and Clara Roquet have directed their first television series in collaboration with Disney under her leadership.

Currently, the team led by Sofía Fábregas is immersed in the filming and post-production of several projects that will premiere on Disney+ over the coming years, representing a valuable contribution to Spain’s audiovisual sector in terms of employment, diversity, and innovation.
